Hello everyone,
A couple of weeks ago we were in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the day, and so I just wanted to share some photos with you all.
We have been to Philadelphia many times before, and actually went there to show a visiting friend around. It's actually nice to see things from another's point of view, and even though we have been before, it was interesting to see things from the eyes of someone who hadn't.
We visited Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, and had lunch at an awesome little place a few blocks from the downtown core, named the Khyber Pass Pub.
Philadelphia is a very historical and interesting place to visit. Even if you're not really into history it is worth while going to see where the Declaration of Independence was signed and where the country was founded.
Here is the food I mentioned above, from the very neat Khyber Pass Pub. It is a vegetarian seitan sandwich with cheese fries.
We went to the Liberty Bell visitor centre, and I saw this t-shirt which I thought was funny.
At the visitor centre they had leaflets for the new PIXAR exhibit at the Franklin Institute in the city. We actually have tickets to see this in April, which we are very much looking forward to. Expect a report on that here on the blog afterwards!
Here's the Liberty Bell, complete with the famous crack that apparently is spreading:
We walked past the China Town gateway, but due to needing to get somewhere, we didn't spend any time in China Town.
Walking the streets we came across "Jesus", who was spreading peace and love to passers by, and taking selfies with those so inclined!
The LOVE statue had moved temporarily due to construction work, but it was still good to see.
Finally, we stopped by the Hard Rock Cafe to see which pins they had, as I collect them, but there weren't any good ones this time. We'll be back next month again, as I mentioned above, so I'll check again then.
That's all we had time for. It was a really nice day, and I look forward to being back next month again for the PIXAR exhibit.
Have a great week everyone,
Dan.
